π¬️ Do You Breathe Correctly?
We take about 20,000 breaths a day — yet most of us breathe without even thinking about it.
And still, the way we breathe affects everything: our mood, our energy, and even how our organs function.
When you learn to breathe properly, you can reduce stress, sleep better, and feel more alive throughout the day.
πΏ The Three Types of Breathing
Depending on where the air reaches in the body, there are three main types of breathing:
Chest breathing – The air reaches only the upper part of the chest.
Rib (lateral) breathing – The air expands the chest and the ribs.
Abdominal (diaphragmatic) breathing – The air travels deep into the belly.
In everyday life, because of stress and fast rhythms, most of us use shallow chest breathing.
The diaphragm moves very little, and the body doesn’t get as much oxygen as it needs.
This means the heart must work harder, leading to fatigue, anxiety, poor circulation, and even more shallow breathing — a vicious cycle that takes us away from our natural balance.
πΏWhy Diaphragmatic Breathing Makes the Difference
Diaphragmatic or abdominal breathing is the most natural and complete way to breathe.
When you inhale through your nose, the diaphragm moves downward, improving blood flow and “massaging” the organs in the abdominal area.
As you exhale, it rises again, aiding the heart, pressing gently on the lungs, and helping remove carbon dioxide and toxins.
This simple, rhythmic movement:
-
Calms the nervous system,
-
Increases oxygen in the blood,
-
Slows the heart rate,
-
And creates a deep sense of inner peace. πΏ
π What Happens When Breathing Is Shallow
When we breathe fast and shallow, the body reacts. You may experience:
-
Trouble sleeping
-
Stress, anxiety, or irregular heartbeat
-
Digestive discomfort
-
Weakened immune system
-
Fatigue, cramps, or low energy
-
Poor elimination of toxins
In short: when we don’t breathe properly, the body runs out of energy.
